Second Greatest Leader of The Glorious Country, The Allmighty co-Premier... commits suicide the day before his re-election. TVs, radios and public intercoms keep buzzing with political dispute; all kinds of fractions are jumping at the opportunity to become a ruling class in this part of the country; military police floods your city, the number of citizens recruiting for said police increases tenfold; the eastern part of the city begins a full-on street war...

Why should you care though? Your recluse lifestyle left you completely unaffected by any propaganda and the last few years you spent in a metaphorical stasis, unenthusiasm and a general confusion of what comes next... Besides, your rabbit hole of a childhood haunts you daily, and you literally can't talk to 99% of country's population because of your very specific muteness.

It all seems pretty much hopeless until one day you're approached by a leader of a certain political party...

The Mute is a story-rich RPG with different mechanics, variative gameplay and a unique atmosphere, which fully immerses you into the game's world.

The game features:

  • Dystopian atmosphere present in most parts of the game
  • Challenging first-person combat with QTEs, timed attacks, combos and so much more...
  • A semi-open world, which allows you to explore the city of Antopolia during the day and night
  • 3 different areas with multiple different levels + at least 1 additional area, available through main hero's flashbacks
  • An impressive amount of side quests
  • Several additional characters you can occasionally play as
  • Original soundtrack

Additional features are:

  • Brutalist architecture
  • Brutalist architecture
  • Brutalist architecture
  • Occasional ''Dark and gritty''
  • Enforcers of a totalitarian government which will watch your every step – move along, citizen!
  • Mini-games like computers, arcades, cooking and sportsbetting on guinea pig races
  • A deep, believable lore, a bulk of which you can optionally uncover through dialogs and side quests.
  • That and so much more...

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Before moving on to the development of the open world/main story part I wanted to proof my concept first. Hence, the only part you'll be able to download right now (''Division 0.5'') does not actually feature the city of Antopolia and the main story. However, ''Division 1.5'', which i'll continue working on very soon, will present most of the features listed above that note.

The demo is still fun to play, though, and I would really like to hear your feedback on the game before continuing with it's development.

I definitely need to get back in and play more of the video game in the beginning, but everything else you've shown in this demo is SUPER intriguing and I can't wait to play more! Thank you for the English version of the demo and hope you'll do the same with the full version when the time comes. Love this project!

Also, I think I have a new fascination with brutalist architecture, so thanks for that... :)

Thank you again for taking your time to look at my game on stream and even editing it into a whole separate video!

I am really glad, that you were able to appreciate The Mute's quality, because I really took my time to make a game stand out.

I'm gradually continuing to work on a bigger demo now, while editing some stuff in the division 0.5

It's also very cool, that you became fond of concrete structures! 'Cause I myself find almost all of the examples of brutalist architecture truly breathtaking.

There's gonna be A LOT of concrete buildings in the bigger demo and a full release.

I absolutely love the combat system, it reminds me slightly of the combat from "Legend of Legaia" and the artwork of the dogs is so cool. The environment artwork is amazing also. I know it's not a horror game, but I did get some spooky vibes at one point when I was searching through the house for the jacket, I felt afraid of waking up who ever it was. Doorknobs OP and I love it.

Thank you for your feedback! The ''afraid to wake up whoever it is'' feel is totally what I was going for.

I am also glad, that you took notice of the artwork and that you were able to enjoy game's features as intended.
